Luminaries will line The Walkway as veterans, honor guards, elected officials, and the public make their way to the Center Overlook for a flag changing ceremony at dusk. The retired colors will be presented to a local family who lost a loved one in service to America. This is an annual event for the Town of Hyde Park that is organized through the Recreation department. All groups must be pre- registered. 10am-12:30pm. Revolutionary War soldiers stand vigil at the coffin of Colonel Francis Barber and then perform a graveside mourning ceremony. A cannon firing and military demonstration follows. The parade line up starts at 11am on Wallkill Avenue by the Grange Hall. Same traditional 1-mile route as in past years. A short patriotic ceremony and free refreshments will conclude. 11am. Village of Montgomery. 16th Annual Memorial Day Community Picnic. May 27. The Tuxedo Park Library will commemorate those who have served our country with the annual community picnic. This event gives an opportunity for the library to show our gratitude to local service men and women, our fondness for our patrons, and an immense appreciation for the Tuxedo Park community. 12-2:30pm. The parade proceeds down West Street to Broadway, then turns onto Liberty Street and continues into Washington's Headquarters. Services at Washington's Headquarters begin at 11:30am.
