The Port Jervis Farmers Market educates people on healthy, locally-based eating habits and promotes the importance of supporting regional farmers and makers. The Poughkeepsie Waterfront Market is open to the public and features farm fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, poultry, baked goods, maple products, hon- ey, pickles, beer and more. The Market, now in its third year, has expanding its selection of agricul- tural products available from local Hudson Valley farms. The Market is a lively, weekly celebration of the Hudson Valley, which also features live entertainment. In addition, 'Kid's Kitchen', a healthy eating program for young children will be held weekly at the Market, free of charge. 3-6:30pm. All you need to bring is a pen, paper (or a notebook or your electronic device of your choice) and your creativity. Snacks and writing topics are provided. 4-6th grade students. Preschool aged children are invited weekly for "Tiny Tots Theater," a morning of imaginative play, costume and puppetry. The Schaghticoke Fair will celebrate its 200th year of being a showcase for the best that Rensselaer County residents and agriculture have to offer. Building after building will be bursting with vegetables, fruits, animals, antiques, baked goods and homemade crafts. Tasting, seeing, hearing and literally feeling agriculture in action is one of the best experiences we can offer. There will also be tons of great midway rides. Children 13 and under are free. Get ready for six days of fun filled with all your fair favorites as well as new entertainment that will fill the stages, exhibit buildings, barns, midway and grandstand. 182 Hudson Ave., Chatham. We will cover STEM subjects such as chemistry, biology, physics, etc. as well as other topics such as geography, art, music, and more.
