Little artists are welcomed to create beautiful masterpieces weekly at Petit Picasso! The program is intended for toddlers and preschoolers. Richard Montgomery was an Irish-born soldier who first served in the British Army and later became a Brigadier General in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. The Village of Montgomery, named for him, celebrates General Montgomery Day every fall with a day of vendors, live country, rock and blues music, fun events, a terrific parade, an 8K race, a soap box derby, and an evening of fireworks. For three days, the outside of the Hellenic Center is filled with the exciting sights, smells, tastes and sounds of the Poughkeepsie Greek Festival. Come enjoy traditional Greek delicacies and our famous pastries. Sit and enjoy the Greek music and dancing under the tent. Sunflower Fest will showcase a collaboration of the OCNY West community of agriculture and businesses. There will be local food and drink, local goods and activities like corn mazes, a giant slide, petting zoo, chalk house and more. Meet the alpacas, enjoy live music, shop our vendor village, do the chicken dance with a chicken and have a ton of fun.
