There will be a wide variety of food truck fare, desserts and sweets available for purchase as well as locally crafted brews. There will also be live music and fun for the whole family. 4-9pm. Join us for the peak of the monarch butterfly migration. Learn about monarch butterflies, their unusual lifestyle and lifecyvle and their miraculous migration to Mexico. Become a citizen scientist as you catch and tag them as part of a national research project. $10 for adults, $7 for children. 2-3:30pm. Hudson Highlands Nature Museum Outdoor Discovery Center. 120 Muser Dr., Cornwall. 534-5506. 20th Annual Arlington Street Fair. Event features over 130 vendors selling food, jewelry, art and novelties. Many local nonprofits will be on hand to give out information on services they provide to the local community. There will be two stages of free entertainment. There will be a youth area on the Arthur May Elementary School Lawn for children. This event is a great day to come renew friendships and make new ones. 12- 6pm. Raymond Ave., Poughkeepsie. 50th Annual Gem, Mineral, Fossil & Jewelry Show. This show will feature over 28 dealers, wholesalers, lapidary demonstrations, a fluorescent mineral exhibit, six free rocks at glitter mountain for kids, and several fossil exhibits. There is a sluice at the show selling both mineral and fossil bags for the kids. Admission is $5, $4 for seniors, $2 for students. Children under 12 are free with an adult. Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 10am-4pm. Gold's Gym. 258 Titusville Rd., Poughkeepsie. Pine Bush Harvest Festival. Celebrate the harvest in the hamlet of Pine Bush adjacent to the Shawangunk Mountains. It's a day of entertainment for all ages with arts and crafts, a farmers market, live music, food, games and more. Rain date September 22. 9am-3pm. Main St., Pine Bush. 477-2020. Hardscrabble Day. K104's 12th Annual Pooch-a-palooza and Vendor Fair. There will be a vendor fair full of local craft vendors that carry unique gifts for pets and humans. There will be contests and giveaways for pets and pet owners, a bounce house, pet parades, on-stage demonstrations from animal trainers and other special guests. Join us for a one-hour hike with the tykes led by a museum educator at the Outdoor Discovery Center! This popular unique weekly hiking group for families with babies, toddlers and young children will follow gentle stroller-friendly trails and explore the fields, ponds and forest as you enjoy a fun nature lesson presented by an environmental educator. 9:30-10:30am. Join us for this fun and edu- cational time for our littlest visitors! Experiment together with art, science, language and math early learning activities that support early child- hood learning. Children can practice important skills like taking turns and making a friend as they explore the different stations that promote school readiness, social connections, and skill develop- ment. 10:30-11:30am.
