HVP: What makes Elise incredible?
Melanie: My daughter is an
intelligent, talented and strong young
woman who is committed to finding
the things that will make her happy
and successful in life.
She is a great big sister and a loyal
friend who makes everyone smile with
a joke or two.
HVP: How do you encourage your
daughter to be brave?
M: I encourage Elise to take risks
because it's those experiences that
challenge us and teach us the most.
HVP: What are some struggles you
have had to overcome as a parent that
you didn't expect?
M: I have had to learn how to step
back and watch how my child deals
with a situation. Parents always want
to fix things for their kids and it's not
