With the onset of social distancing and other chal-
lenges of COVID-19, finding balance can seem more
elusive than ever.
Yet managing what can feel like a large scope of es-
sential priorities for each family member while coping
with unexpected stresses might be a little easier when
work, homeschooling and household concerns are bal-
anced with lighter moments.
This issue looks at having fun with your kids with
family craft nights, where everyone does creative proj-
ects together, like making something new from what's
on hand in different, inventive ways.
The issue also features a story on digitods, that is,
youngsters that use technology. The devices are a great
way to have fun and learn, but balance in how often
they're used matters.

new baby can rock a family's

Ruffing's piece, involving your
youngsters in the big arrival
and baby's care can ease the
transition and help steady a
family's dynamic.

always possible, but it's been
my experience that taking small
steps to steady off-kilter periods
helps reduce stress and increase
enjoyment. And that's good.
