Families enjoy shared evenings
Kids and their parents make the most of their time together
Spending long stretches of time at
home because of COVID-19 restrictions
has it challenges, but Monica Freer of
Hopewell Junction is finding ways to
maximize her family's time together.
"I don't want to leave this pause with
regrets," said Freer. "With my husband,
we're putting together ideas."
During the early days of the quaran-
tine the family enjoyed at-home movie
nights, including Freer, her husband,
and their son, 20; twins, 18; and second
set of twins, 10. The couple's oldest, 22,
lives and works in the Albany area. The
evenings were fun, Freer said, but then
the 18-year-olds turned to online gam-
ing with their friends in the evenings
and the younger kids joined their dance
class' virtual evening program.
"What I'm learning is we get to eat
dinner together, which is huge," Freer
