moment with son,
Max before bed.
Sometimes fear helps us grow
closer together too. This was the
case for Chinea, whose son,
Ethan, spent a week in NICU.
"The fear of not knowing what
was going to happen has been our
biggest bond. I never want to see
him in that situation again."
Give it time
However you choose to bond
with your baby is unique to your
relationship. You and your baby
will figure out the best way to
spend your time together and
how to connect. For some mothers
it happens right away, for others,
it takes time. Bonding is a process
and, like any relationship, takes a
lot of work. Bruschi likes to advise
new moms to be confident in
understanding their baby's needs.
"The fact is, no one knows your
baby better than you."
