A MEMBER OF I f you've been to our website lately, you've likely noticed our new- est offering to parents: HVP Exclusive Content. By logging in with your own identity, not only do you gain VIP access to exclusive web stories, guides, and top lists, but you can also access our downloadable specialty magazines about camp, education, and more. And it's all absolutely free! Another really great new feature for our exclusive VIP readers is the "My HV Parent Page." Now you can customize what articles you see fi rst based on your personal interests and your family's needs. New mom? We've got you covered. Parent to a child with special needs? You got it. Are you most interested in food and nutrition stories? Local places to go? Then we'll show you those stories fi rst. Can't decide and want it all? No problem! Customize your home page however you'd like. Simply head over to the "My Ac- count" section on our site menu and click which types of stories appeal to you most and which resources you'd like to see fi rst. It's that easy! Back-to-school While you're at it, don't forget to visit our back-to-school headquar- ters at hvparent.com/6-best-back-to- school-products. You'll fi nd our cute new video starring our 6-year-old cover kid winner Ayanna from Monroe. You'll also fi nd great tips on back-to- school lunch ideas, adjusting to new bedtime routines, helping your child with school anxiety, where to shop local, and much more! After-school fun! Make sure to check out our Enrichment Guide this month starting on page 10, with some of the best extra-curricular classes and after-school programs in the Hudson Valley. On page 12, we offer tips on what to consider when choosing after-school activities for your child, and why extracurricular learning is essential to every child's development. Fall festivals We can't wait for two great chil- dren's festivals this month: The Reel Expressions International Youth Film Festival and the Warwick Children's Book Festival! Reel Expressions is an annual exhibition of youth-produced fi lm hosted by Spark Media Project in Poughkeepsie. Featuring submissions from fi lmmakers between the ages of 13-19, the festival brings together a diverse representation of youth-pro- duced 10-minute short fi lms, from both newcomers to the craft and established young artisans. And make sure to check out our guide to making the most of the War- wick Children's Book Festival on page 16. Fifty children's authors will be on hand to sign books and talk literacy with your little ones. It's sure to be a great day. Hope to see you there! A fond farewell After two years, I'll be leaving my post at Hudson Valley Parent. I've absolutely loved the opportunity to share local stories of inspirational parents, while fi nding the best plac- es to go and things to do with kids in the Hudson Valley. Thanks! Enjoy the VIP experience! KATY WEBER Editor's Journal
