The sledding hill is free and open seven days a week from 9am until dusk. The adjacent snow tubing hill is open Friday 4:30pm-9:30pm, Sat- urday 9am-9pm, Sunday and school holidays 10am-5pm. Snow tubing tickets are $15 per person for a 1-½ hour session. Must be at least 42 inches tall. The park has a snowmaker so visi- tors can go sledding or snow tubing all winter. Ulster County Pinegrove Ranch and Family Farm 30 Cherrytown Rd., Kerhonkson, NY 1(800) 346-4626. A day pass to this horse-filled winter wonderland offers families resort type fun without staying the night. The pass includes lunch and activities like snow tubing, ice skating and more. Pinegrove has a snowmaker for when it hasn't snowed. Enjoy the different hills that are available to you from 10am-4pm every day! Day passes cost $39 for ages 7 and up and $19 for children ages 3-6. Children 2 and younger are free. Orange County Mount Peter Ride and Ski Center 51 Old Mt. Peter Rd., Warwick, NY (845) 986-4940. Take an exciting ride downhill for a day of snow tubing fun. Must be at least 42 inches tall and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket. Dress for the cold winter air and throw on a pair of snow boots because sneakers are not permitted. In preparation for the fun plan to arrive 30-45 minutes before your scheduled session. Tickets cost $25 per person for a two-hour session. Tubing ses- sions take place every two hours on Wednesday and Thursday 4pm-8pm, Friday 12pm-8pm, Saturday and holidays 10am-8pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm. Must be at least 42 inches tall to participate. Holiday Mountain has a snowmaker so you can enjoy tubing even if it hasn't snowed. Dutchess County Bowdoin Park 85 Shafe Rd., Wappingers Falls, NY (845) 298-4600. Weather permitting, visitors can use the designated sledding area from 9am-4:30pm every day for free. Hot chocolate and coffee are avail- able in the vending machine at pavil- ion 5. Hay bale barricades provide a safe stop at the end of the hill. Burger Hill at Drayton Grant Park 3137 Rte. 9G, Rhinebeck, NY (845) 876-4213. The park is open every day from 9am until dusk and sledding is free. The Burger Hill Committee even provides free hot chocolate on some cold winter weekends! If it's snowing it must be winter!
