An annual holiday favorite, Dance Theater in Westchester performs its family-friendly, full-length version of Tchailovsky's ballet set in wintry colonial Yorktown, complete with a red-coated mouse army, an enchanted nutcracker prince, simultaneous narration to help young audience members enjoy this timeless classic. 3-5pm. An event that combines fun, good manners and education about a bygone era, in an authentic location where social teas were once standard fare. Held in Mount Gulian's two main museum rooms, beautifully decorated for the holidays, with tables set with fine linens and china. The cost is $17 for children and $22 for adults. Get Ready for the New Year at Boscobel. Families can take a fun flashlight tour of the mansion. Hunt for gingerbread kids throughout the historic house, then join in a seasonal craft. Crafts include constructing countdown clocks, funny hats and noise makers. 9:30am, 3pm. For these workshops, kids ages 6-10 tour the house briefly to see mouse houses on display in the mansion's historic rooms, then use craft materials to build their own mouse house to take home.
