6 Hudson Valley Parent n January 2017 2 017 is an exciting time for us at Hudson Valley Parent. We are 23 years old and still in our prime. Our only goal is to help par- ents, especially moms, be the best they can be. That is why we introduce ME TIME! Just for Women. This new monthly column covers health & wellness, personal development and your home. Brilah Harris, our newest writer is first up with our beauty & fitness column. We also asked HVP staff what their favorite ME TIME activities are. So sit back and enjoy this fun read. Since I was a little girl I loved putting make-up on my dolls. So, you can imag- ine my thrill when Sephora opened. That became my personal playland. Sephora, Ulta and Macy's here I come! — Terrie Goldstein, publisher For me, the key to a balanced life is meditation. Any time I'm feeling frazzled, I break out my mala bracelet and slip into a deep meditation. Each day I designate at least 30 minutes of ME TIME. I believe that you can- not help others without first helping yourself. — Brittany L. Morgan, web coordinator When I need to take care of myself I typically turn to arts and crafts for ME TIME. Anything from finger painting alone to organizing my craft stash with the music blaring. — Pamela Perry, community liaison I enjoy painting with pastels. This is my ME TIME. I have been taking a class every week for about 3 years and enjoy how relaxing it can be. I take pride in knowing that I have set this time aside for me. — Pam Soscia, traffic manager I love the thought of keeping myself healthy. So, I have made it my mission to find new places along Route 9 that make delicious, healthy shakes. Although my husband says I can make them at home, this is my ME TIME. — Christy Olivier, media advisor I asked my wife Debbie to share her favorite ME TIME experience. She said her Me Time is Green Time, spending time outdoors: hiking or going to the beach when it's nice out, and skiing and skating when it's cold. Yoga and reading work anytime--good for the body and spirit. — Matt Silverman, media advisor My favorite Me Time is to read for hours on end without interruptions. I also love to get a massage that relaxes my body and my mind. — Veronica Ingram-Henry, media advisor For 2017 set aside time for you!
