Hardware in Washingtonville, has years of experience doing painting projects that began with her now teen and grown children. Now she shares her expertise with her clients. "Don't be afraid of color... find inspiration in a cur- tain or a pillow," she says, noting that it's better to match a wall color to something that will be placed in a room, rather than matching complementary items to a color you've chosen from a paint swatch. Courtney says that the lighting - either natural or artificial - changes how the color appears in a room. "I'm a huge advocate of samples," she says. Courtney recommends customers bring home a sample pot of paint to try out before committing to painting an entire room. She also offers a word of warning on the latest trend: painting a room or wall the color gray. Courtney says the color gray can range from warm to cool hues - all of which change a great deal depending on the color of the fabrics and furniture in the room.; 845-496-3755.
