Fall festivals We can't wait for two great chil- dren's festivals this month: The Reel Expressions International Youth Film Festival and the Warwick Children's Book Festival! Reel Expressions is an annual exhibition of youth-produced fi lm hosted by Spark Media Project in Poughkeepsie. Featuring submissions from fi lmmakers between the ages of 13-19, the festival brings together a diverse representation of youth-pro- duced 10-minute short fi lms, from both newcomers to the craft and established young artisans. And make sure to check out our guide to making the most of the War- wick Children's Book Festival on page 16. Fifty children's authors will be on hand to sign books and talk literacy with your little ones. It's sure to be a great day. Hope to see you there! A fond farewell After two years, I'll be leaving my post at Hudson Valley Parent. I've absolutely loved the opportunity to share local stories of inspirational parents, while fi nding the best plac- es to go and things to do with kids in the Hudson Valley. Thanks! Enjoy the VIP experience! KATY WEBER Editor's Journal
