Safer than you think
Marty Malitoris knows this well.
He is the founder and director at
Alpine Endeavors, an outdoor adven-
ture company that operates in the
Hudson Valley and whose programs
include rock climbing, ice climbing,
mountain climbing, and scrambling.
He started climbing when he was 15
and has been an avid climber ever
since.
Having worked with lots of kids
and families over the years, he says
they have had great experiences.
"Kids love to climb," he says. "It's
super fun and it's a good, challeng-
ing sport."
Alpine also offers lots of options
for families who want to climb
together. Malitoris says it's a great
bonding experience that helps kids
and families learn to build trust
