30 Hudson Valley Parent n July 2019 13: Saturday American Girl Day at Clermont State Historic Site. Bring your favorite 18-inch-tall fashion doll for a fun, history-filled adventure at Clermont! American Girl fans and their grownups will go on a special tour of the mansion, meet dolls styled to represent real girls who lived at Clermont, enjoy a tea party, and make doll-sized crafts. This program is for children ages 5 and up and children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited and reservations are required. $12 per person. 10:30am-12pm or 1-2:30pm. Clermont State Historic Site. 1 Clermont Ave., Germantown. Community Day of Nature & Play. Spend the day enjoying nature play, hiking, live animals, games and more. Hike the trails and romp in our unique nature play area, Grasshopper Grove. Community Day of Nature and play is generously sponsored by Nat & Tracy Stillman. 12-4pm. Join us for an illustrated presentation and learn all about dragonflies and damselflies including anatomy, life cycle and feeding habits. Then we'll walk the fields to net and identify these jewels before releasing them back into their habitat. 10am. Tour several National Historic Landmark private homes, 230-330 years old in the 1661 Dutch village of Hurley, New York. Even features militia and historic re-enactors, tour guides in colonial attire, children's activities, colonial crafts and music recitals. 10am-4pm. Greystone offers a Saturday Respite Program once a month for children with autism and other developmental disabilities 6-21 years old. This program offers a variety of fun recreational activities to promote social interaction both on-site and on field trips. 10am-3pm. Pawling's next generation of athletes will get their chance to swim, bike, and run their way along a modified, shorter-distance course. Under 10 course: Swim 75 yards, Bike 1 mile, Run ½ mile10 and over course: Swim 125 yards, Bike 2 miles, Run 1 mile. Each youth participant will receive a t-shirt and a participation award. Space Sensation Friday Storytime. Join us for some sensory exploration of all things space! The moon, the stars, the planets are all waiting for us!
