The Fairchester Hose Haulers and Kingston Volunteer Fire Museum bring their equipment to join our 1922 American La France pumper. Includers our History of Flight Air Show at 2pm. 10am-5pm. The mission of the festival is to celebrate brass music in a rural, accessible and family-friendly environment. This year's event will feature 11 brass bands over two days, as well as local food vendors, drinks, farm tours, a bonfire, dancing in the open air, and for the first time, a "Meet the Musicians" workshop and a children's processional! Folks of all ages and levels of experience are welcome. There are two different races to choose from. The Kids' Shawangunk Playgroup. Playgroup for babies and preschool aged children and their parent/ caregiver(s). Children play while adults get a chance to socialize. Playroom stocked with toys and an outdoor playground area for nicer weather. 9:30-11am. Bring the family for a special viewing of The Grinch on the Safe Harbors Green. There will be a cookout hosted by the City of Newburgh Police Department and free popcorn. Little artists are welcomed to create beautiful masterpieces weekly at Petit Picasso! The program runs weekly on Thursdays and is intended for toddlers and preschoolers. Join us for Ralph Breaks the Internet. Bring your own blankets and chairs to enjoy a family-friendly movie under the stars. Free. Weather permitting. 8:30pm. Event features animals, country living auction, food, entertainment, games, activities, exhibits, horse show, country pig roast and chicken barbecue, master gardener plant sale, touch a truck and more! Event is rain or shine. Admission and parking is free. Friday 12-6pm, Saturday 10am-7pm, Sunday 10am-5pm. Dash is a 1,000 meter (just over ½ mile) race for kids through the orchard. The 5K for Adults is through a designated course around the orchard at a less competitive pace. Registration is now open. Blast off this summer with the Hudson Area Library Summer Reading Program! This summer we celebrate the legacy of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing with "A Universe of Stories." Cadets, birth to 7 years old, in the HAL Space Program under the direction of the children's area staff will explore the cosmos with a focus on books and activities in the fields of science, art and history. The Hudson Area Library Summer Reading Program helps to build literacy skills while also maintaining a positive attitude towards reading and learning during summer vacation.
