Page 14 of 31 n Hudson Valley Parent 15 You aren't alone Nicole Simmons from Marlboro admits having similar questions when she was pregnant for the second time. She says, "I had thoughts about how adding a new baby to our family would effect our son. I worried about having enough room in my heart when my son already had my whole heart. Obviously the minute I set eyes on our baby girl I knew the answers to those questions. Your heart isn't divided when you add to your family - it just grows big enough to feel an unrelenting love for all of your babies." Erin Holohan from Staatsburg was expecting twins the second time around. She says, "I wondered how I would take care of two newborns while my daughter was still a baby herself. I only have two hands. That first year was a blur of survival mode. We found our way and slowly began to gain more confidence as a family of five." Alissa Theodor from Kingston Amanda Repp admits feeling overwhelmed as she adds more children to her family. The unknown is scary! is currently expecting her second child. She says, "We were planning on having more children and I'm super lucky to bring another miracle into this crazy world, but am I physically or mentally ready? This pregnancy gives me extreme anxiety." Amanda Repp from Poughkeepsie is currently pregnant with her third child. Making the leap from two children to three comes with a new set of challenges. She says, "During my second pregnancy, I felt an overwhelming sadness that it wasn't going to be just our son anymore. During this pregnancy, I just feel overwhelmed!" (Continued on Page 16)
